Physics with Sticks

It’s been a while since we have been facing the Covid-19 pandemic related restrictions. These include the not-so-interesting mode of learning online for the students. Many of us are now experiencing “quarantine fatigue” and loosing interest in listening to virtual lectures. But what if I tell you that we can make this process of learning more engaging? You can do interesting physics with just a simple stick lying somewhere in your house. In the following videos, I will be discussing four such physical concepts using a stick.

Concept – 1

In this first video, I will be discussing the significance of a very special point, the center of mass, of the stick.

Concept – 2

In the second video of the series, I present concepts related to load carrying using a stick.

Concept – 3

In this video, I explore acoustics and resonance using a metallic stick.

Concept – 4

In the fourth and final video of the series, I will illustrate the concepts of electromagnetic induction and opposition using a hollow metallic stick and a small magnet.

Besides this, you can view our video and blog collections in the Video Section & Blog Section of the website.
