One of the most essential discoveries by mankind is gravity. But nature never fails to surprise us. There are certain places throughout the world, where gravity doesn’t seem to act. Well, even though there are explanations behind this, but still it fancies common people a lot. Here are a few of these places. Get ready to experience the bizarre beauty of nature.
Inverted Waterfall
As the name suggests the waterfall flows in the opposite direction. These rare waterfalls are found in the Republic of Chile. It’s an unusual phenomenon, which doesn’t seem to obey the law of gravity. However, the true logical explanation behind this unusual phenomenon is different. There are strong gusts of wind that change the direction of the waterfall. Therefore, it seems that the waterfall is inverted. Several anomalies are recorded in India and Australia.
Mysterious Place in Santa Cruz
This mysterious place was discovered by George Preisser in 1939 during a walk when he felt dizzy. He noticed that the arrow of his compass began to rotate continuously at a tremendous speed. The scientist grew very much interested in the place with such a terrain. He bought land in the place where his compass was doing such tricks. After some time he built a house there and invited people to see what miracles were happening there. Visitors can stand and bend in various angles and yet not fall. The water flows up and the ball rolls up an inclined plank there. Many give explanations that this is due to the presence of some magmatic crater below the surface. However, there has not been any explanation why the house lacks gravitational force. In 2014 it was given the title of being one of the Historic Site in California.
Mount Aragats
The Mount Aragats is a matter of great enigma to scientists. However, tourist visit this place to see the surprising reality here. The tourists reach the bottom of the hill and observe their cars to go uphill even with a killed engine. Even the water in rivers flows from downhill to uphill.
Magnetic Hill
The Magnetic Hill in Canada has the similar wonder as that of Mount Aragats. Many believe that there are ghosts in there. Most important, many give the explanation that it is simply an optical illusion. But the mystery remains unsolved.
Hoover Dam
It is one of the major attractions of the Eastern United States. The construction of the huge dam makes it a place of interest where gravity doesn’t seem to work. If you drop water from a bottle into the dam, to your surprise, water will fly off upward instead of falling down. The mystery behind this phenomenon, however, lies in its construction. The walls of the dam are constructed in such a fashion that it creates powerful currents of wind off the edges. Thus, water is flown upward by the wind against the force of gravity.
